The Association for the Prevention of Torture has released a practical guide intended for use by any person carrying out monitoring visits to police stations and/or any other installations, and preventive activities concerning the police.
Primary users of the manual are those operating under the Optional Protocol to the Covenant against Torture and other cruel, inhuman, degrading treatment or punishment (OPCAT), as part of national preventive mechanisms (NPMs).
