The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) has released its Civil Society Report on the Detention of Vulnerable Asylum Seekers and Irregular Migrants in the European Union (The DEVAS Project), a report investigating and analysing the vulnerability of detained asylum seekers and irregular migrants.

In partnership with NGOs based in 23 European Union Member States, JRS oversaw the collection of 685 one-on-one interviews with detainees, revealing a common negative effect upon those experiencing detention.
