Jesuit Refugee Service

The Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) advisory board representative is Fr Michael Gallagher. JRS is an international Catholic organisation with a mission to accompany, serve and advocate on behalf of refugees and other forcibly displaced persons. JRS undertakes services at national and regional levels with the support of an international office in Rome. It was founded in November 1980 as a work of the Society of Jesus (commonly known as the Jesuits).

Fr Michael Gallagher is an author, professor, theologian and intellectual, receiving his doctorate in theology at Queen’s University, Belfast.  Fr Gallagher currently works with the Jesuit Refugees Services based in Geneva. Fr Gallagher currently is involved in the IDC Advisory Committee.
