TIFFANY SHAKESPEARE joined the IDC as the Africa Programme Officer in 2017. Prior to that, she interned for the Global Public Policy Institute (GPPi), Berlin, and other NGOs offering legal assistance to refugees in Paris, Oxford, and London.
Tiffany holds a First Class Honours degree in Anthropology from University College London (UCL), with a visiting year at Sciences Po, Paris, where she conducted research among former Syrian political prisoners for her dissertation. Her research interests include migration governance, institutionalised discrimination, and the human rights compliance of democratic countries, especially in places of detention.
Tiffany supports the Africa Regional Coordinator in strengthening the coalition, mapping alternatives to immigration detention, and facilitating regional collaboration on the implementation of alternatives. Tiffany is based in London, United Kingdom.
