Breakthrough USA: restorefairness.org: Gutierrez to unveil immigration reform while enforcement measures on the rise

"Tomorrow, December 15th, at 12:30 pm, Congressman Luis Gutiérrez (D-IL) will officially unveil his immigration reform bill to the U.S. House of Representatives–'Comprehensive Immigration Reform for America’s Security and Prosperity Act of 2009.'

Details of the bill are yet unknown. However, in October and November, he spoke persuasively about protecting American and immigrant workers, providing enough visas to diminish undocumented immigration, strengthening border security, keeping families together as well as the DREAM Act and agJobs."

USA: LIRS: Lutherans Continue to Call for Fair & Humane Immigration Reform

The Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service (LIRS) continued their call for fair and humane immigration reform at a White House meeting held on August 20, 2009, hosted by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.

IDC & Sin Fronteras: Article: Piden a Mexico mayor proteccion a menores migrantes (Spanish)

En México, los centros de detención migratorios operan sin tomar en cuenta las necesidades especiales de protección de las niñas, niños y adolescentes migrantes, solicitantes de asilo y víctimas de trata de personas.

Así lo indicaron la Coalición Internacional contra la Detención y la institución asistencia privada Sin Fronteras, que en el marco del Día Universal del Niño que se conmemora el 20 de noviembre, hicieron un llamado a países como México para garantizar los derechos de los infantes, sobre todo los que se encuentran en condiciones de vulnerabilidad como los migrantes.
