International Detention Coalition is set to hold its annual member meeting in Geneva on June 14th, 2016, alongside NGO Consultations hosted by the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The meeting will take place at the Maison des Associations, Rue des Savoises 15 1205, Geneva, between 9am and 1pm on June 14th. During the meeting, the IDC secretariat consult with members about developments and strategies to be followed for the coming year.

Last year’s meeting was attended by over 50 members. Some of the issues discussed in the 2015 meet include growing concerns about criminalisation of irregular migration and the need for increased collaboration to expand the use of community-based alternatives to immigration detention. The 2016 meeting will see members discuss further developments in these areas.

This year, we will be streaming the event for our members who are unable to be there.

If you are unable to attend we would like to hear from our members, as your inputs shapes the next year for IDC. Contact your regional coordinator or email [email protected] to get involved.
