Elizabeth Alvares joined IDC in 2022 as the Americas Program Support. She studied International Relations at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and worked for 4 years at the Institute for Women in Migration, which is a civil society organisation in Mexico City. During this time, she participated in activities to support migrant children, such as sensibilisation and raising awareness of their rights. Elizabeth also participated in training and capacity building activities for authorities and civil society, as well as advocacy actions to promote and guarantee the rights of migrant children in Mexico.
