Mia-lia Boua Kiernan


Campaigns & Communications Coordinator
Mia-lia Boua Kiernan joined the IDC as Campaigns & Communications Coordinator in January 2019, prior to that she served as Campaign Officer at IDC for almost two years. Mia-lia has a long history of grassroots multi-level organising in the US, and in 2010 she co-founded a community organisation in Philadelphia to campaign against the detention, deportation, and separation of Cambodian refugee families, as well as organising alongside deportee communities in Cambodia. She believes strongly in the need for directly impacted people, families, and communities to lead and guide advocacy work on issues that affect their own lives. She holds a BA in International and Area Studies, and an MA in Public Policy and Management. She holds a BA in International and Area Studies, and an MA in Public Policy and Management.
